Touchless Door Hardware

A touchless system allows an individual entry or exit without the need to touch any door controls at all. This can be accomplished with a variety of motion sensing switches combined with touchless door hardware hardware. The use of proximity card/fob readers can also be utilized for a more secure system. With door controls that can read from 1 inch to 20 feet away, it’s easy to find the right fit for any situation. There are also several options with wireless systems for situations where installing wires is not feasible.

A touchless door systems consists of an electronically-controlled door operator to open and close the door along with activation controls to signal the door to open. Door operators come in a variety of sizes and configurations to suit almost any opening. While the installation of door operators used to be restricted to factory-trained technicians, new designs are available that make installation easy for individuals trained to install a standard door closer. Activation controls can be as simple as a motion detector that opens the door whenever someone approaches or a confined zone that requires a hand wave to activate. For more secure installations a proximity card or fob reader can provide an individualized “key” that is issued only to authorized personnel.

For existing door operator systems that still require contact (with push buttons or keypads), upgrading them to be contact-free can be as simple as replacing the current activation devices.
